NJ JACKSON — Jackson Zoning Board approves variance for undersized property garage. The board voted 6-0 to allow property owner Lane Morell to construct a 30-by-50-foot pole barn on his 0.97-acre lot at reduced setbacks under R-3 zoning standards. Board Engineer Matthew Wilder noted the property falls 3 percent short of the 1-acre threshold that would trigger more permissive R-1 zoning.
The variance allows a 21.68-foot side setback where 50 feet is required and a 43-foot rear setback where 100 feet is required. The board also approved a two-year subdivision extension and an inground pool variance, each voted 5-0.
