Jackson Council approves affordable housing plan, grant funding

NJ JACKSON — Jackson Township Council approves affordable housing plan and authorizes state grants in special session. Council President Mordechai Burnstein led the March 13 vote on Resolutions 118 and 119 establishing the affordable housing spending and affirmative marketing plans, which passed unanimously with Councilman Kenneth Bressi abstaining on one resolution. The Council accepted a $35,526 leaf-composting grant from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and approved a $21,676 Safe and Secure Grant from the state Department of Law and Public Safety to fund a police officer combating heroin and motor vehicle thefts through April 17, 2027.
The township also approved a shared services agreement with Manchester Township for Chief Financial Officer services from Jeannette Larrison, CPA.
