Jackson swears in first female Police Chief

NJ JACKSON — Jackson appoints first female Police Chief. Captain Mary Nelson was sworn in as Jackson Township's first female Police Chief on February 10, with the Township Council also conducting a promotion ceremony for eight officers, including two Captains and four Lieutenants. The Council unanimously approved a $170,000 Community Development Block Grant application for municipal accessibility improvements and advanced six ordinances on second and first reading, including rent control restructuring that reduces the Rent Leveling Board to five members and caps manufactured home lot rent increases at 2.5 percent.
