Zoning Board continues two contested applications to July 15

NJ JACKSON — Jackson Zoning Board defers two major applications pending environmental review. The board, chaired by Lynn Bradley with Vice Chair Sheldon Hofstein, voted 7-0 to continue Tiferes Chaim Inc.'s application to develop 13 homes on 17 acres at Cassville Road to July 15, despite the R-3 zone allowing only 5 homes at current density. Applicant representative Moshe Pearlstein offered to reduce the proposal to 10 homes.
The board also carried an amended site plan from JPO Jackson LP/Grand Harmony to July 15 to convert the development's clubhouse to a house of worship and bathing facility (Mikvah). Board Attorney Jean Cipriani, Board Engineer Matthew Wilder, and Board Planner Ernest Peters cited missing environmental documentation from the state and a requested impact statement as reasons for the deferrals.
