Zoning Board approves sign variance for Ulta Beauty

NJ JACKSON — Jackson Zoning Board grants Ulta Beauty sign variance at shopping center. The board voted unanimously on March 18 to allow two signs at 537 Monmouth Road, where code typically limits retailers to one sign up to 80 square feet; Ulta's two signs combined will total 113.32 square feet. Attorney Jeffrey Donner argued the tenant's dual-unit footprint and building setback warranted the variance to improve customer visibility, an argument supported by planner Barbara Ehlen's site photographs demonstrating visibility issues.
The board also approved four additional variances in the same meeting.
